Chickpeas (Chola Boot), also known as garbanzo beans or chana, is an annual legume of the family Fabaceae, subfamily Faboideae. Chickpea seeds are high in fiber and rich in essential nutrients like protein, vitamins, and minerals. It is one of the earliest cultivated legumes, a key ingredient in South Asian, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern cuisines. Chickpeas are often used in salads, soups, stews, curry, chana masala, hummus, falafel and various dishes.
